The Annapurna Circuit Trek is breath-taking views of mountains and terraced fields meticulously carved out the low land hills and the variation in the terrains as you gain the altitude certainly compensate for the effort. It is the most well-known classic treks among the tenth in the world. Circumambulation of entire Annapurna massif is unforgettable through the deep valleys; the world’s deepest Kali Gandaki gorge, highest pass Thorong La (5,416m), high mountains and the mountain vistas from the open valley of Manang are very close within stone’s throw.

Crossing the pass can be difficult or impossible if there is deep, soft snow on the pass. Such condition can be expected from January to March and often longer.

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m)

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International airport, Kathmandu our company representative will be displaying a hoarding board written as “All Nepal Trekking P. Ltd” outside the airport terminal for receiving you and you will be then transferred to your respective hotel by our private vehicle.

Kathmandu sightseeing

After breakfast, our tour guide will take you to three UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu. Pashupatinath Temple is regarded as one of the holiest sites for Hindus all over the world and dedicated to Shiva.

Boudhanath Stupa is located 5 km east of Kathmandu city center, one of the largest stupas in the world and one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage which stands three-tiered platform raised over the crossed rectangles.

Swayambhunath Stupa is located in the heart of the city and a little hillock lies about 4 km west of Kathmandu city center. Swayambhunath is also called Monkey Temple by the tourists owing to the large number of monkeys in the temple area.

Drive to Syange/ Jagat (1100m) 8 -10 hrs.

Upon our breakfast at early, we start from Kathmandu at 7 am to Besisahar 5-6 hrs. scenic drive along Kathmandu-Pokhara Prithivi Rajmarg and splits the road at Dumre to Besisahar and here change the Jeep to trek starting point. During the drive Lamjung Himal massif, Marsyangdi River, waterfalls, villages and farms will enhance you along the way.

Trek to Dharapani (1960m) 7-8 hrs.

After breakfast, trek starts through broad-leaved forest, cross a small tributary and reaches Chamje in an hour, descend 15 minutes & cross Marsyangdi River and continue upstream high above the river for 1½ hours until you emerge from the gorge, reaches flat valley & continue ahead to the houses of Tal(1707m) in the centre of valley in 10 minutes. Cross a small tributary beyond Tal on a log bridge & ascend upstream through narrowing valley. Pass by an old suspension bridge in 1½ hours & continue upstream without crossing it. Cross new suspension bridge over Marsyangdi River and reaches to Dhara Pani in 5 minutes.

Trek to Chame (2713m): 5-6 hrs.

After breakfast, trek begins upstream and pass the village of Thonje at the confluence of Dudh Khola & Marsyangdi River and pleasant walk brings you to Bagar Chhap, continue in pine forest admiring Manaslu behind you, there are views of Annapurna & Lamjung Himal. In 45 minutes cross a tributary up through lush oak forest, reach the settlement of Latamarang (2454m). The trails to southward through blue pine forest walk about an hour to Koto (2629m) and after crossing few tributaries in 30 minutes reaches to Chame.

Trek to Pisang (3185m): 5 - 6 hrs.

After breakfast, cross a tributary & then Marsyangdi river, pleasant trail through pine forest to reach Taleku in half an hour, trek trail continues close to the river & steep and narrow valley through a very dense forest along successive waterfalls to reach Khampa settlement of Bhratang.

Enter a fir forest & cross the river again in another 45 minutes, then climb into pine forest & leave the forest after 1½ hours. Cross the river to the north bank & now you are in dry & arid region of Manang called Nyesyang. Reach Pisang after 35 minutes from the bridge.

Trek to Manang (3351m) 5 hrs.

After breakfast, take the lower direct route, cross the tributary & ascend into pleasant pine & juniper forests. Climb to the upper valley floor beyond a narrowing & reach Hongde (3322m) in 1½ hours. Continue along crossing another tributary & head over towards the Marsyangdi river to cross it in another hour , ascend along the north bank to a small town of Munchi (3482m) & reach Braga (3505m) in less than 30 minutes from Munchi, reach Manang in half an hour from Munchi.

Trek to Yak Kharka (4176m) 3 - 4 hrs.

After breakfast, cross a tributary below a falls beyond Manang & reach Tenki (3642m) in half an hour. Tenki is the last permanent settlement below the pass. Climb for half an hour beyond Tenki to a fork & take the right fork to reach Kosang (3879m) shortly beyond, ten minutes further is a higher settlement called Khora., the trial now turns northwest up the tributary valley of Jarsang Khola. The country side is quite dry & alpine with occasional birch grooves. Cross small tributaries & contour along pleasant meadows passes an ancient old Mani wall and then reaches a small village of Yak Kharka.

Trek to Thorong Phedi (4404m) 3 - 4 hrs.

After breakfast, climb, contour & descend to Jarsang river in 45 minues & corss to west bank. Climb & contour upstream crossing some stream to reach river bed & just beyond, an hour from the bridge is Thorong Phedi, literally meaning “the foot of hill”.

Trek to Thorong La pass (5416m) & to Muktinath (3802m) 7-8 hrs.

We start very early in the morning, around 3 am, as it gets very windy after 11 am making the endeavor of crossing the pass virtually impossible. Besides, the high latitude is also a problem for walking. From Phedi, ascend to a notch (4793m) in 1½ hours & head left, traversing to the base of prominent lateral moraine (4846m) in another 30 minutes. Reach its crest in few more minutes & continue west along less steep terrain. After many false crest, reach Thorang Pass (5416m) climax of Annapurna circle trek in 4 hours from Phedi. A large cairn marks the pass but it may be almost entirely covered with snow. Descends from the pass is gradual at first & follows the middle of the valley for the first hour. It becomes considerably steeper & keeps to the south side of the valley on the scree. Cross tributaries & descend to the major tributary in the valley floor (3856m) 3 hours from the pass. Cross it & descend a bit to continue down the main valley & reach Muktinath, an important pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Buddhist after another 25 minutes. Dhaulagiri (8167m) looms impressively to the south.

Drive to Tatopani (1,219m) 6-8 hrs.

After breakfast, visit Muktinath temple and drive by vehicle (bus or jeep) the right fork leads to Kagbeni along a plateau above the Kali Gandaki & continue downstream to reach Jomsom (2713m) which is a district headquarters. The countryside to the north is very arid & to the south, Dhaulagiri impressively guards the Thak Kohola valley. Trekkers may stay overnight at Jomsom who would like to end their trek here & fly out to Pokhara.

Continue head downstream pass through villages Marpha (2667m), Ghasa (2040m), Dana (1446m), world`s deepest gorge and reach to Tatopni (hot spring). Nilgiri peak looms to the north.

Trek to Ghorepani (2850m) 6 -7 hrs.

After breakfast, trekkers may also take continue drive to Pokhara or who would like to trek, cross Kali Gandaki, climb up contouring high above the river & reach the notch Ghara (1692m) and Sikha in an hour. Pass the village of Phalante (2256m) & Chitre (2316m). The walk provides breath-taking views of Nilgiri (7661m), Tukche (6920m), Thapa peak (6021m), Dhaulagiri (8167m) & the terraced fields to hillside. Continue uphill through cultivated area at first & then prickly-leaved oak & rhododendron forest. Reach Ghorepani in 1½ hours form Shikha.

Trek to Tadapani (2540m) 5-6 hrs.

Early in the morning hiking to Poonhill (3210m) about 1hr. climb along the steep trail to the viewpoint from where it can be seen superb view of sunrise over the Himalayas and panoramic views of Mountains including Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Annapurna (8091m), Mt. Manaslu (8163m) Annapurna South (7219m), Fishtail (6993m), and so on. After visiting Poonhill, come back to lodge and have a hot breakfast then trek to Tadapani through the rhododendron forests.

The gorgeous close-up towering views of Annapurna South & Hiunchuli can also be seen from this spot. Tadapani means “far water” and water supply is in a long distance billow the village.

Trek to Ghandruk (1940m) 3 hrs.

After breakfast, we start a day the trail with steeply descends through the dense forests and reach on a ridge towards Ghandruk where a large number of Gurung’s inhabitants. Alongside, views of Annaurna South, Hiuchuli and Machhapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail).

Trek to Nayapul and Drive Pokhara 5 hrs.

After breakfast, we start the trek in a long descent to upper Shyauli Bazaar, continue following a path alongside the Modi River and finally reach to Birethanti, it takes then a half-an-hour's walk to Naya Pul where our trek ends and drive to Pokhara 42 km for about 1½ hr. by private vehicle.

Fly/Drive back to Kathmandu

After breakfast, 6 hours drive (210km) from Pokhara along Marsyangdi & Trishuli Rivers takes you back to Kathmandu.
