UPPER DOLPO TREK |
|
 |
|
It is a remote,
unspoiled area
trek through the
upper section of
Shey-Phoksundo
National Park.
The highlight of
this trek is to
explore the
least trodden
pristine
landscape found
no other parts
in Nepal. The
trek offers
visit to ancient
and isolated
villages,
immortal to
time. It
provides you
with sites of
spectacular
lakes, authentic
Buddhist
monasteries and
plentiful
wildlife
including blue
sheep, mountain
goat, jackal,
wolf and snow
leopard. The
acclaimed movie
“Himalaya” is a
poignant
portrayal of
this wonderful
land. The first
foreigner to
trek Upper Dolpo
is Ekai
Kawaguchi, a
Japanese
traveler who
traveled to
Tibet via Dolpo
in the last
decade of 19th
century.
