The Annapurna
region lies
towards the
north of central
Nepal. The
region has been
recognized as
one of the
world’s best
trekking trails
according to a
recent survey by
Modern Maturity
(USA). The
highlights of
this part of
Nepal are
Annapurna peaks,
Mt. Dhaulagiri,
River Kali
Gandaki and
several other
peaks. Gateway
to Annapurna
trekking region
is the famous
city of Pokhara.
The most
prominent ethnic
groups of
Annapurna region
are Gurung,
Thakali and
Manangba. Fauna found
here are pika,
blue sheep and
Himalayan Tahr
and vegetation
ranges from
tropical species
to temperate
forests of oak,
beech and
rhododendron.

Annapurna Circuit
This
is one of the most interesting classic
treks in the Annapurna region. The trek
encircles the famous Annapurna massif
passing through sub-tropical plains in
the Himalayan foothills, Trans Himalayan
Manang and then entering Mustang Valley
crossing the highest elevation Thorang-La
pass (5416m).

Annapurna Sanctuary
This
is another classic trek in the Annapurna
region. It is relatively a short trek
that can be completed in as little as 14
days. The trail up the Modi Khola passes
through dense forest of rhododendron and
bamboos by the time a huge rock
overhung, known as, Hinku Cave, is
reached.

Annapurna Skyline Trekking
This
is one of the most interesting and
shortest treks from which one can have
close up views of some of the highest
peaks of Nepal: Machhapuchhre and
Dhaulagiri. The interesting things about
this trek is one will be passing through
Kaligandagi, one of the deepest gorges
in the world.

Jomsom – Muktinath Trek
This
trek is suited for those who want to see
the combination of lifestyles of the
mountain people and deserted plateau
above the tree lines. You will share the
trail with trains of donkeys and ponies
traveling to Mustang and other areas in

pleasant with few ups and downs most of
the way

This
trek is a spectacular short trek and
traverses a variety of terrain ranging
from lowland villages and rice terraces

Rough

trekking is designed up to Poon Hill

Annapurna, the holy Machhapuchhre {Mt.
fish tail} and Dhaulagiri (8167m).
