GENERAL INFORMATION

Travel Documents :

It is the client’s own responsibility to obtain passport & travel visa. The passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended return date. The client is responsible for providing the company with correct, complete & accurate information regarding personal details including physical disabilities.

Problems :

If you ever feel a problem has developed, whether simple or complicated, physical, medical or interpersonal, please discuss it with your guide. He can often find a quick, confidential solution to correct or improve the situation. Discussion encourages understanding, expressing feeling often alleviates them or indicates a direction in which to proceed.

Security :

The vast majority of Nepalese are friendly, trustworthy people. However, in places frequented by tourists, especially public market places, airports and downtown streets you must be aware of pickpockets and bag snatchers. Rest assured that the chances of bodily injury is practically nil and that the streets are relatively safe to walk at night.  While on trek, we have staff to guard the camp once it's set up to keep people away from the tents. It is good idea to keep your tent securely zipped at all times. Your trip guide will brief you thoroughly on arrival in Nepal.

If you plan to leave your excess cash or checks and other valuables in the Kathmandu hotel safe, you need to carry a photocopy of your passport while sightseeing and trekking. It is a good idea to have a money belt, neck pouch, or similar device for carrying valuables. While on trek keep your valuables with you at all times or lock them securely in your duffel bag.

Normally our staff in Nepal will collect your passport upon arrival in Kathmandu in order to complete trekking permit formalities for you. Your passport will be kept in our office safe and returned to you after the trek.

Season:

The most popular seasons for traveling to Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan and India are spring (Feb-May) and autumn (Aug-Nov). During the monsoon season (June-Aug) tours and treks are also possible depending on where you are going

Map :

Maps of Nepal's regions are available in Kathmandu. You will be given maps of Kathmandu and your trek route at your trip briefing upon arrival.

Smoking :

Smoking is not permitted on buses or in dining tents. We try to pair non-smokers (the great majority on our trips) with other non-smokers. Should you get mis-paired, please talk to your trekking guide.

Time and Communication :

Nepal is approximately 13 hours ahead of Pacific Time. It is possible to telephone your country from Nepal from the hotel in Kathmandu, but this must be paid for on the spot; there are no collect calls.

Photography :

There are incredible opportunities for photography in Nepal and there are no limitations on the amount of film you may bring. The price of film in Kathmandu is exorbitant, so we recommend bringing more films than you expect to use. 20 rolls is a moderate amount and you may even want to bring more.

Currency Fluctuation:

All prices of the tours are based on foreign exchange rates at the time of publication. Prices may change in the event of increased land or air costs that are beyond the company’s control. The company reserves the right to alter the price of any tour due to currency fluctuation. Any increased price will normally be notified 60 days prior to departure.

Health Requirements:

Our company reserves the rights to exclude clients who are physically or mentally unfit to undertake long trips. Travelers to Tibet are required to provide a doctor’s certificate stating that s/he is fit enough to travel & her/his blood pressure & heart condition are normal. This is a necessary requirement because of the possible effects that the very high altitude may have on certain people.

Quotations:

All  quotations are subject to availability of services quoted and are not guaranteed until the booking is confirmed and deposit received. Quotes are valid for 1 year from the date of issue.
